Deep Pit Because Of Earth Subsidence

Actually, on Monday at around three in the evening, the ground abruptly collapsed on the road that led from Dhani Bhopalaram to Sahajrasar village in Rohi, Sahajrasar village in Bikaner, Rajasthan.
A crater 70–80 feet deep and 150–200 feet broad was created as a result of ground subsidence. The road vanished as a result of this pit’s creation. The residents of Kharda village learned about this late at night when they were traveling in a jeep from Lunkaransar to their hamlet. But fortunately, the jeep was stopped at the brink of this deep pit, so there was no accident. Subsequently, the locals summoned individuals from the adjacent village and extracted the jeep from there.

Prohibition On Traffic

The Geology Department team, which included ASI Ramniwas Meena and Sub-Divisional Officer Rajendra Kumar, arrived at the location upon learning of the land subsidence.
Following the incident, a sizable crowd gathered to view the pothole. The police have prohibited traffic on the road as security measures.

Cause for ground subsidence

The cause of the ground subsidence has not yet been determined by the Geology Department. The administration claims that geologists have determined that this location has been abandoned for over a century and that it is possible that the ground is sinking because of water flow or that it is hollow beneath the surface. If the locals are to be believed, lightning is said to have struck this location almost a century ago. This is the reason this location is known as Bijal Khad informally.
The land here has been gradually sinking one or two feet over the past few years, according to the villagers.
