As we all know, the Men In Blue won this fifty-overs eight-team competition and had an unbeaten run in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, just like the 2024 T20 World Cup, which was played last year in the United States of America and the Caribbean, West Indies.

The International Cricket Council has picked the ICC Team of the Tournament, featuring five Indian players who have done well in that competition. But they haven’t selected Rohit Sharma in their playing eleven despite being the Man of the Match and the winning captain.

Axar Patel is another notable Indian player who is also not there in that list and the spin bowling all-rounder is named as the 12th man. Today, in this segment, we shall name those five Indian athletes who are part of the playing XI of ICC Team Of The Tournament –

The former skipper of the Indian team, Virat Kohli, was captain of the 2017 Champions Trophy when the Blues reached the finals of this tournament. Kohli was also part of the 2013 triumph in England and now again he is a CT winner. King Kohli played two great knocks to see India through the run chases.

Against Pakistan, the King scored an amazing unbeaten 100 runs. Against the Aussies, King Virat scored a mind-blowing 84 runs. Overall he has scored 218 runs from five games and that many innings. VK is mentioned as the fifth highest run getter of this edition.

2. Shreyas Iyer

The middle order batter Shreyas Iyer is silently becoming a hero for the Men in Blue. He has been consistently scoring those runs at the number four position for the team and many times in crunch situations as well. The 79 run knock against New Zealand in the last group A match is a prime example of that.

Shreyas is India’s top run getter in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and he is been named as the four batter in the ICC Team of the Tournament. Iyer has scored 227 runs, which is also the second most runs by a batter in CT 2025. He has scored those many runs in five matches and five innings.

3. Kannur Lokesh Rahul –

CT 2025 Final:
KL Rahul

The Karnataka wicketkeeper batter, Kannur Lokesh Rahul had a calming influence in the match which went down till the last over. KL Rahul had batted nicely and guided India to many wins in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 edition. In the ICC Team of the Tournament, KL has been included as a wicketkeeper. But as a batter, Rahul has scored 140 runs from five games and four innings.

4. Mohammed Shami –

Shami had played the finals of ODI World Cup 2023, and since then he has been out because of injury issues. In the CT 2025, Shami picked up a five-fer in the first match of this competition against Bangladesh. Overall he picked up nine wickets to his name from five matches and five innings.

India’s mystery spin bowler, Varun Chakrabarthy is the last player to be mentioned in the playing eleven of the ICC Team Of The Tournament. Varun was quite accurate in spinning a web around the world’s best batter in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He too picked up a five-wicket haul in this edition. He is just the third Indian bowler to pick a five-fer in CT. Overall, ChakrabarthVy picked up nine wickets to his name in this 50 overs competition.
