But the ICC (International Cricket Council) has an issue of who will host this One-Day International event after the Indian Board, Broad of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), will not send the Men’s Cricket Team to Pakistan because of security reasons. PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) is also not accepting the hybrid model as they have the hosting rights of this eight-team ICC event.

In this segment, We Shall Give Out The Five Optional Countries For The ICC To Host The ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The ICC will have a virtual meeting to resolve the issue of where the tournament will be played after Pakistan is adamant about not allowing the ICC to host this fifty-overs tournament elsewhere, and India’s decision not to go to that country is valid as security comes first.

1. England –

The ICC Champions Trophy can again be held in England in 2025 like the previous two editions of 2013 and 2017. They were the hosts of the 2004 Champion Trophy as well. The International Cricket Council can certainly consider this country again as their venue for next years fifty overs tournament because a none devil is better than non devil.

2. South Africa –

The next ICC ODI World Cup will be played in 2027 and South Africa is one of the nations who would be hosting that event three years later. The ICC Champions Trophy is also called the mini ODI World Cup. So the International Council can switch the hosting rights to South Africa and let this Proteas Nation host the tournament in 2025. SA had hosted this event once in 2009 when the CT was pulled out of Pakistan.

3. Australia –

The last ICC event in Australia was the 2022 T20 World Cup and since then the Aussie nation hasn’t hosted any events of the International Cricket Council yet. So if the ICC considers Australia as the host nation for this fifty-overs event, then that would be the first time that the ICC Champions Trophy would be played Down Under.

4. Sri Lanka –

In 2002, the ICC Champions Trophy was played in the island nation of Sri Lanka and after that not a single time the Sri Lankan nation has hosted this event even once. The 2023 fifty-overs Asia Cup was also played in the hybrid model after India refused to travel to Pakistan. All the matches of India were played in Sri Lanka and India ended up winning that Asian event. Now ICC has the right to host the entire ODI event of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Sri Lanka and that would be just the second time that Sri Lanka would be hosting this event.

5. UAE –

If ICC is successful in convincing Pakistan to go for the hybrid model, then the India matches will be played in UAE. However, if Pakistan remains adamant then ICC has the full rights of pulling the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 outside the Men in Green nation and let the UAE host that entire event next year.
