New Zealand Vs England: The three-match series of the red ball format between New Zealand Vs England has ended today. Ben Stokes and his men have won the series by 2-1. England won the first two games while the hosts, New Zealand has avoided the whitewash successfully.
The third red ball of the three-match Test series was played at Seddon Park in Hamilton. Today, we shall bring the best five performers of the third red ball match, which the Kiwis won by a whopping margin of 423 runs, the fourth biggest margin of wins in terms of runs.
1. Mitchell Santner –
The spin bowling all-rounder of New Zealand, Mitchell Santner did well for the Kiwis in the last Test Match. In the 1st innings, when New Zealand batted, Santner top-scored with 76 runs. That allowed The Kiwis to reach a score of 347 runs and he also picked up three scalps with the red cherry when England batted in their 1st innings.
Mitchell also contributed well in the second innings, when New Zealand scored 453 runs. Santner scored 49 runs with the willow in hand, and he picked up 4 scalps in the second innings when the visitors, England reached just 143 runs. Mitch’s all-around performance earned him a Player of the Match award in the 3rd red ball match.
2. Matthew Potts –
England didn’t give a clinical performance like they did in the first two red ball matches. In the last match of this three-match red ball series, England lagged behind. Potts was the one who performed better in the 1st innings when New Zealand mustered 347 runs. Matthew picked up a four-wicket haul to his name.
3. Matt Henry –
The pace bowler of the Kiwi Nation, Matt Henry was the highest wicket-taker from the Blackcaps side in the 1st innings when England was bundled out for just 143 runs. Henry was also impressive on the tour of India and here in the 1st innings of the third Test match, he bagged a four fer to his name.
4. Kane Williamson –
The former red ball match skipper of New Zealand, Kane Williamson, was the best batter when his team amassed 453 runs in their second innings. Williamson scored a brilliant 156 runs to his name and he was also the top scorer for the Blackcaps side in their second innings which helped the home side to dominate this third Test match.
5. Jacob Bethell –
The Barbados-born cricketer, Jacob Bethell batted in the number three position in this game. In the 1st innings, Bethell scored just 12 runs. But he made up for his low score in the second innings when Jacob played well for his 76 runs. He also shared a partnership with Joe Root, who was the second-highest scorer in the second innings when England mustered 234 runs and lost this Test match by a mammoth 423 runs.
