Pahalgam Attack: Following the Pahalgam attack, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (IT Ministry) of the Government of India has directed Elon Musk’s X platform (formerly Twitter) to block the official account of the Pakistan government in India. Acting on this request, X has restricted access to the account within India.
This means that the Pakistan Government’s X account will no longer be visible to users in India.

X is a widely used platform where verified accounts of global leaders and governments regularly share official updates and national decisions. The Pakistan government account, which has now been blocked in India, was also one such verified profile. Screenshots of the blocked page are being circulated online.

A terrorist attack took place in the Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, in which many tourists were killed. After this attack, the Indian government has taken many big decisions.
For your information, let us tell you that on Wednesday evening, a high-level meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) was held in India in which the situation was discussed. Five tough decisions were taken against Pakistan in the meeting:
- Closure of the Attari-Wagah border check post between India and Pakistan.
- Shutting down the Indian Embassy in Pakistan.
- Suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty between the two countries.
- All Pakistani diplomats in India have been ordered to leave the country within 48 hours.
- Suspension of visa issuance to Pakistani nationals
As an additional measure, on Thursday the Indian government directed to block the official account of the Pakistan government on the X platform (formerly Twitter). X is a widely used global social media platform where world leaders and official government representatives share updates.
