UP CM Yogi Adityanath on Friday expressed concern over the condition of madrasas in the state. He stressed that madrasas should not remain centres of religious education only. To avoid this, comprehensive reforms in madrasa education are necessary. Along with this, he announced the formation of a special committee, chaired by the Director of Minority Welfare.
The committee will focus on ensuring that madrassas follow the required infrastructure and educational standards. The chief minister’s move is aimed at improving the quality of education and ensuring that madrassas contribute to the overall development of students, preparing them for a more inclusive and modern education system.
Currently there are 13,329 recognised madrasas operating in Uttar Pradesh, with 1,235,400 students enrolled.
What Did Yogi Say?

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that madrasas should not be limited to only centers of religious education. Madrasa students should benefit from all aspects of modern education.
He emphasized that the aim of the government is not only reform but also innovation and inclusiveness, aiming to integrate madrasa education into the mainstream.
During this, he also expressed concern over the decline in the number of students appearing in board examinations. Yogi said that the continuous decline in the number of students appearing in board examinations is a subject that needs attention.
UP Board Results Also Announced Today
The Uttar Pradesh Board has declared the results of class 10th and 12th for the academic session 2024-25. 90.11% students passed the high school examination, while 81.15% students passed the intermediate examination.
Yash Pratap Singh, a resident of Jalaun, topped the high school category by securing 97.83% marks. In the intermediate category, Mehak Jaiswal of Prayagraj secured first place by securing 97.20% marks.
