Pune Lohagad Fort Murder Case: In a shocking incident that mirrors the recent and highly discussed Sonam Raghuvanshi case from Indore, the Pune district of Maharashtra has witnessed a chilling crime.
A 24-year-old man, identified as Ketan Agarwal, tragically lost his life after falling into a 350-foot-deep gorge near the historic Lohagad Fort.
While initial impressions pointed toward an unfortunate trekking accident, a detailed investigation by the local police has uncovered a deeper, allegedly pre-planned conspiracy.
According to police reports, Ketan’s fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her lover, Chetan Choudhary, have been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
What was initially perceived as a tragic slip during a trek has now turned into a high-profile homicide investigation, leaving both families and the local community in deep shock.
A Wedding Interrupted by Tragedy
Pune Lohagad Fort Murder Case: Media reports suggest that Ketan Agarwal was on the verge of starting a new chapter in his life.
The families were actively preparing for his wedding, which was scheduled to take place next month.
In anticipation of the grand celebration, a luxurious palace had already been booked in Jaipur, Rajasthan, and extensive arrangements were underway to accommodate the wedding guests.
To celebrate his fiancée Siya Goyal’s upcoming birthday, special celebrations had also been planned at a premium resort in Mahabaleshwar, where around 40 rooms were reportedly reserved.
Furthermore, the couple had initially planned a pre-wedding trip to Bali.
However, family sources indicate that the international trip had to be abruptly canceled after it was claimed that a passport had been lost.
Looking back, investigators are now analyzing whether these events were linked to the larger plot.
Failed Attempts and the Fatal Timeline
Pune Lohagad Fort Murder Case: As per the initial investigation carried out by the Pune Rural Police, the fatal incident on June 19 was not the first time an attempt was made on Ketan’s life.
Digital evidence and statements indicate a recurring pattern of trips to isolated high-altitude locations:
May 31: Ketan and Siya visited Lohagad Fort together for the first time, which police believe may have been an initial scouting or planning visit.
June 14: According to police sources, another attempt was allegedly orchestrated to lead Ketan toward a dangerous edge or valley area. However, that plan failed, and Ketan returned home safely.
June 19: A final trekking trip to Lohagad Fort was organized. Investigators allege that Siya’s lover, Chetan Choudhary, also reached the location secretly.
It was during this trek that Ketan was allegedly pushed into the 350-foot-deep abyss, resulting in his immediate death.
How Digital Evidence Cracked the Case
Initially, the local authorities treated the matter as a standard accidental death case often reported around slippery fort terrains during trekking seasons.
However, the narrative shifted dramatically when cyber cells and local detectives began reviewing the digital footprint left behind by the individuals involved.
According to the police, a thorough examination of mobile phone records, call detail records (CDRs), social media interactions, and other digital data raised significant red flags.
The analysis revealed consistent, secretive communication between Siya Goyal and Chetan Choudhary.
Confronted with the digital evidence pointing toward an undisclosed relationship and coordinated movements on the day of the incident, the Pune Rural Police intervened, detaining Chetan late at night and subsequently taking Siya into custody for rigorous questioning.
Current Status of the Investigation
The Pune Rural Police are continuing their detailed interrogation to establish the exact sequence of events that transpired on top of the fort on June 19.
Investigators are also looking into how long the alleged conspiracy was being brewed and whether any external assistance was involved in executing the crime.
As the legal proceedings move forward, both accused remain under police custody.
The authorities are currently compiling a comprehensive chargesheet backed by forensic data, location mapping, and electronic evidence to present a watertight case in court.
Further official updates from the senior police officials are awaited as the interrogation progresses.
