Ghaziabad Murder Case: A horrific incident of stalking and violence has shaken the Kaushambi area of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
A 15-year-old girl, identified as Khushi, tragically lost her life after being allegedly pushed from the fourth floor of a building by a 30-year-old neighbhour.
According to media reports, the accused, identified as Shahnawaz, had been persistently stalking and harassing the minor girl for several weeks.
The physical assault, which took place on the night of Wednesday, July 15, 2026, was reportedly an act of retaliation after the victim confronted him and resisted his advances.
The Ghaziabad police have arrested the accused and initiated a rigorous investigation under relevant sections of the law, including murder.
Chronology of the Tragic Night in Kaushambi
Ghaziabad Murder Case: The horrific sequence of events unfolded at around 10:00 PM on Wednesday. According to the victim’s mother, Manju, Khushi had stepped out of her house to buy milk from a nearby local shop.
Media reports indicate that Shahnawaz intercepted the teenager on her way, cornered her, and forcibly dragged her to the terrace on the fourth floor of a nearby building.
Once upstairs, the accused allegedly attempted to molest her. When the minor put up a strong resistance and fought back, the accused reportedly pushed her off the edge of the fourth floor in a fit of rage before fleeing the scene immediately.
Hearing a loud thud and screams, local residents and family members rushed to the spot. They found the teenager lying on the ground in a pool of blood, suffering from critical, life-threatening injuries.
From Emergency Care to Tragic Demise
Ghaziabad Murder Case: The critically injured teenager was immediately rushed by her family and neighbors to Meenakshi Hospital, a local private medical facility.
Due to the severity of her internal injuries and multiple fractures, doctors administered primary emergency treatment and referred her to the Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital in Delhi for advanced neurological and trauma care.
Despite the best efforts of the medical team, the victim succumbed to her injuries during treatment on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
The news of her death sparked immense grief and tension in the locality, prompting a quick response from the local administration to maintain law and order.
Retaliation Over a Slap: The Stalking History
According to the victim’s family, this was not an isolated incident of harassment. The victim’s mother alleged that Shahnawaz had been systematically stalking and tailing Khushi for several weeks, making her daily commute highly distressing.
Local sources and media reports reveal that a few days prior to the incident, a heated public confrontation had occurred between the victim and the accused on the street over his persistent misconduct.
Exhibiting immense courage, the minor girl had reportedly slapped Shahnawaz in public to deter him from following her.
Family members allege that the accused perceived the public slap as a massive blow to his ego and was actively looking for an opportunity to seek revenge.
Family’s Plight and Police Action
The tragedy has left a marginalized family completely devastated. The victim’s family had been residing in a rented accommodation in the area for the past ten years.
Khushi’s father, who worked as a daily wage laborer, passed away just three and a half months ago. Following his death, the mother and her teenage daughter had been working as domestic helps in nearby households to sustain the family and support the education of two younger siblings.
Following a formal written complaint filed by the bereaved family, the Ghaziabad police acted swiftly.
Arrest: The Kaushambi police tracked down and arrested the accused, Shahnawaz.
Legal Charges: Initially registered under sections related to harassment and assault, the police have officially added charges of murder under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following the victim’s death.
Investigation: Senior police officials confirmed that the accused has been sent to judicial custody. Forensic teams have collected evidence from the crime scene, and the post-mortem report is being processed to build a airtight legal case against the accused.
