T20 World Cup: India’s campaign in the upcoming World Cup of the shortest format will start with the warm-up match against Bangladesh. This practice match will be played in New York and the live telecast of this game will be shown live on Star Sports and Disney+Hotstar mobile app at 8 PM Indian Standard Time (IST).
The T20 World Cup has been played since the year of 2007. But since then only one batsman from the Men in Blue has amassed a three-figure mark in this World Cup of the shortest format. Christopher Henry Gayle, the Universal Boss from West Indies was the first player to smash a ton in this ICC T20 event. The Gayle Storm arrived at the Wanders Stadium and that too against the hosts of that edition of the T20 World Cup in 2007. Chris scored 117 from just 57 deliveries against South Africa.
The Universal Boss had even scored his second century in the T20 World Cup and he is the only player to do so in world cricket. He has scored an unbeaten 100 runs against England at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. England is the current defending champions of this T20 World Cup edition in 2024 and they are the only second team with West Indies who have won two titles in this ICC event of the shortest format.

- T20 World Cup: Suresh Raina Is The Only Indian Still To Score A Century In The ICC Men’s Event Of The T20 International Format –
India will want to break this unique record which Suresh Raina holds in the T20 World Cup history. Raina is still the only batter from the Men in Blue who has amassed a three-figure mark in the T20 World Cup. The other players from Team India have smashed a ton in a series of 20 overs format and also in a franchise tournament like the Indian Premier League.
But in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, it is only Suresh Kumar Raina, who still holds this record and that too for 14 years. SK Raina is also the second player in the overall list to score a ton in this ICC event of the shortest format. In the T20 World Cup edition of 2010, Raina scored 101 runs from just 60 deliveries against a good bowling lineup of South Africa. That score of three figures also allowed India to win that game, which was just the second match that the Blues won in that edition of the T20 World Cup when it was played in West Indies.
