Under the Neighbourhood First policy, the Prime Ministers and Presidents of India’s neighbouring countries are expected to attend PM Modi’s swearing-in ceremony.

So far, the Prime Minister’s Office has sent invitations to the leaders of Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Mauritius.

Sources have revealed that the leaders of all these countries are almost ready to attend the swearing-in ceremony.

PM Modi has been elected the leader of the NDA and will be subsequently elected leader by the BJP Parliamentary Party as well.

According to media reports, top leaders from South Asia have been invited to the Prime Minister’s swearing-in ceremony, which highlights the government’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe have already confirmed their participation in the event through phone calls with PM Modi.

It has also been confirmed that Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Bhutanese Prime Minister Lotay Tshering and Mauritian Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth will attend PM Modi’s swearing-in ceremony. Formal invitations have been sent to all of them.

NDA Has Secured Victory on 293 Seats in Lok Sabha

The NDA has won 293 of the 543 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. Of these, the BJP alone has won 240 seats and emerged as the single largest party.

Leaders of alliance parties like Chandrababu Naidu of the Telugu Desam Party and Nitish Kumar of the Janata Dal (United) met Prime Minister Modi at his residence yesterday and unanimously elected him as the leader of the alliance.

PM Modi’s swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to be held on June 8 or 9. However, there are no signs of Chinese or Pakistani leaders attending, as they have not been invited.

In 2014, leaders of SAARC countries attended PM Modi’s swearing-in ceremony, while in 2019, leaders of BIMSTEC countries attended.
