United States Vs India: 3 Changes Which India Can Make In The Game Against US –
India has won two in two matches and topped the group stage in this T20 World Cup 2024. But still, they cannot take the team of the United States of America lightly and the Men in Blue also can’t take this fixture as a warm match as well. The co-hosts of this T20 International, US have also won two matches and they are also on 4 points.
One of the biggest wins for United States came against Pakistan and that too in the super over. India had some batting issues in the first two matches, which have been played till now in the T20 World Cup 2024. Only Rishabh Pant has looked good and the others haven’t played according to their potential and worth.
India’s bowling has been good in this ICC mega event of the shortest format and two of their bowlers have been mentioned in the list of the highest wicket takers as well. Boom Boom Bumrah is the highest wicket-taker for the Men in Blue with 6 wickets in two matches while Hardik Pandya has taken 5 scalps to his name till now in two matches played.
According to Report Bharat, India should go with these three changes in the game versus the United States in tomorrow’s match –
1. Yashasvi Jaiswal Should Open –Â
India didn’t get a good start in both the matches played in the T20 World Cup 2024. Skipper Rohit and Virat Kohli are the two Indian openers who have failed to capitalize on the first six overs of the powerplay. HITMAN played well in the first game versus Ireland. He scored a well-compliant half-century.
But The King hasn’t been that batter which we are used to seeing him. Kohli was the highest run-getter in the TATA IPL 2024 season and he scored all those runs when he opened the innings for RCB. However, in this T20 World Cup 2024, Virat had two back-to-back low scores.
So, India should go with their regular opening combination of Rohit and Jaiswal at the top order. Jaiswal has been selected to bat as an opening batsman and he should be given a chance in the last two matches. Yashasvi should have also played the warm-up game versus Bangladesh and the first match against Ireland as well.
2. Virat Kohli Back At Number 3 –Â
The King has cemented his spot in the Indian Team which is the number three position. Kohli has scored the most runs and centuries while batting at that number for the Men in Blue in the white ball format. Now Pant has been batting at that numbered position because Kohli is opening the innings for India.
But for the game versus the US, Kohli should be back at his familiar batting number especially after he failed in the first two matches as an opening batter. While chasing a smallish score of 97 runs, Kohli was out for just one run against Ireland and he managed to score just six runs against Pakistan. Both times, Virat was dismissed inside the first six overs of the powerplay.
3. Shivam Dube Should Bowl His Full Quota Of Overs In The Next 2 Matches –Â
India hasn’t used Shivam Dube’s bowling in this T20 World Cup 2024. Dube is a fast bowling all-rounder and he has been selected for that purpose. But Dube has not bowled at all. What the Blues can do is they can rest Bumrah from the next 2 games and use Dube’s full four-overs.
Dube can be a handy pace bowling option in the absence of Bumrah. Either Yuzvendra Chahal or Kuldeep Yadav can replace Jasprit for the last two group-stage matches of this tournament. India’s last league match is against Canada on Saturday, 15th June 2024 at Florida.
