Salary Structure:

Agniveer soldiers receive a structured salary over their four-year term, which includes training and service. Here’s how their annual package progresses:

  • First Year: Approximately Rs 4.76 lakhs annually, with a monthly salary starting at Rs 30,000.
  • Second Year: Monthly salary increases to Rs 33,000.
  • Third Year: Monthly salary further increases to Rs 36,500.
  • Fourth Year: Monthly salary reaches Rs 40,000.

 Agniveers contribute 30% of their monthly salary to a Seva Nidhi fund, matched by the government.

Compensation for Martyrdom:

In the unfortunate event of martyrdom during service, Agniveer soldiers’ families receive significant compensation:

  • A non-contributory life insurance cover of Rs 48 lakhs.
  • Up to Rs 44 lakhs in compensation, along with the accumulated service fund.
  • Additional benefits include Rs 9,000 for last rites, Rs 30,000 from the Army Women Welfare Association, and Rs 8 lakhs from the Army Central Welfare Fund.

Other Benefits and Policies:

  • Agniveers also benefit from free insurance from banks, courtesy of an MoU with the Army, ensuring financial security for their families in case of martyrdom.
  • State governments often provide additional compensation to the families of martyrs.

Disability Compensation:

If an Agniveer soldier becomes disabled during service, compensation is provided based on the degree of disability assessed by medical officers.

This structured support system aims to provide financial security and recognition to Agniveer soldiers and their families, acknowledging their dedication and sacrifices in serving the nation.
