Women’s T20 World Cup 2024: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the new fixtures of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. The ICC has changed the venue and also the fixtures for the upcoming event of the shortest format. In the earlier schedule, this ICC mega event of the T20I format was to be played in the Asian country of Bangladesh.
However, due to the protest and political tensions in Bangladesh, the ICC decided to move the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 outside that country and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will host this event. The cities of Dubai and Sharjah will host the majority of the matches of this ICC mega event in the shortest format.
The Dubai International Cricket Stadium will host the clash between the arch-rivals team in this Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. The Indian women will take on the women from Pakistan at that venue on 6th October 2024 while the stadium in Sharjah will host the clash between India and Australia on 13th October 2024.
The teams from both groups will play four matches each and the top two teams from groups A and B will qualify for the semi-final rounds of this T20 International event. Group A will have teams like India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia and New Zealand while Group B has teams like Bangladesh, West Indies, South Africa, Scotland and England.
The International Cricket Council has also kept the reserve days for the semi-finals and the final matches of this year’s Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 and there will be 10 warm-up matches to be played from 28th September 2024 to 1st October 2024 before the actual action starts from 3rd October 2024 in Sharjah between Bangladesh and Scotland.
Women’s T20 World Cup 2024: India’s Women To Start Their Campaign Against New Zealand Women
The team which will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur will start their Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 versus New Zealand and then their matches will line up against Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Australia later in this event of the shortest format. The timings of all the matches are 2 PM and 6 PM local time. India will play three games in Dubai and one match in Sharjah.
Friday, 4th October 2024 – India Vs New Zealand In Dubai. Time – 6 PM Local Time
Sunday, 6th October 2024 – India Vs Pakistan In Dubai. Time – 2 PM Local Time
Wednesday, 9th October 2024 – India Vs Sri Lanka in Dubai. Time – 6 PM Local Time
Sunday, 13th October 2024 – India Vs Australia In Dubai. Time – 6 PM Local Time.
