Details from the BSP Booklet

In preparation for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh by-elections, BSP has issued a 59-page booklet. This document aims to inform BSP supporters and party workers about the party’s strategic decisions over the past few years. The booklet explains the rationale behind these decisions, including the break with SP.

Main Reason for Breaking the Alliance

According to the booklet, the BSP received 10 seats and SP won 5 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. After this, Akhilesh Yadav ceased to respond to BSP leaders’ calls. To preserve the party’s self-respect, Mayawati chose to terminate the alliance with SP.

Guest House Scandal Commentary

The booklet also addresses the guest house scandal, a contentious issue from the past. Mayawati elaborates on why BSP had initially formed an alliance with the Samajwadi Party despite this scandal. She explains that the alliance was formed to prevent the BJP from gaining ground in Uttar Pradesh. Akhilesh Yadav had requested to overlook past mistakes and provide the SP with a second chance.

Objective of the Booklet

Through this booklet, BSP intends to educate the public about its policies and ensure that lower-level party workers are informed about the stance and policies of BSP’s leader, Mayawati. Following the 2024 election results and the impact of the INDIA alliance on BSP’s vote bank, Mayawati is eager to retain her voter base and prevent influence from other parties.
