Today, the Sensex concluded at 81,634 with a gain of 584 points. Nifty also gained 217 points and closed at the level of 25,013.
At the same time, BSE Small Cap rose 1,322 points and closed at 55,439. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 19 rose and 11 declined. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 36 were up and 14 were down. The media sector had the highest increase of 3.11%.
There was mixed trading in Asian markets
- HDFC Bank, Reliance, Mahindra & Mahindra and Larsen & Toubro led the market the most. Whereas, Tata Steel, Titan and ITC dragged the market down.
- In the Asian market, Japan’s Nikkei fell by 1.00%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index closed 9.41% lower and China’s Shanghai Composite closed 4.59% higher.
- On October 7, the US Dow Jones fell 0.94% to 41,954 and the Nasdaq fell 1.18% to 17,923. The S&P 500 also fell 0.96% to 5,695.
- According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹8,293.41 crore on October 7. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth ₹ 13,245.12 crore.
Garuda Construction and Engineering’s IPO opened
The IPO of Garuda Construction and Engineering Limited has opened. Investors can bid for this issue till October 10. The company’s shares will be listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) on October 15.
Sensex and Nifty concluded a decline in the market yesterday
Earlier yesterday on October 7, the Sensex fell by 638 points and the Sensex concluded at the level of 81,050. Nifty also fell by 218 points, it closed at the level of 24,795. At the same time, BSE Small Cap fell by 1,827 points and closed at 54,117.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 23 were down, and 7 were up. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 40 were in decline and 10 were up. The IT sector of NSE, all closed with a decline.
