Delhi Pollution Crisis: In light of the pollution situation in the capital, the working hours of Delhi government offices have been changed.
CM Atishi announced that the new timing for government offices will be from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM. She added that this decision is expected to significantly ease traffic issues as well.
CM Atishi Shared Details on X
CM Atishi wrote on X, “Municipal Corporation of Delhi offices will operate from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, central government offices from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, and Delhi government offices from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM.”
Delhi Pollution Crisis: Metro to Run 60 Extra Trips
In view of the rising pollution levels in Delhi, GRAP Stage 3 has been implemented from 8 AM on Friday, November 15. As part of the measures, 106 additional cluster buses will be deployed, and metro trains will operate 60 extra trips. Prior to CM Atishi’s announcement, Delhi’s Environment Minister Gopal Rai shared this update.
Entry of These Vehicles Banned in Delhi
The capital’s air quality remained in the ‘severe’ category for two consecutive days, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) recording 411 on Friday.
As a measure, the entry of inter-state buses, except electric and CNG buses, has been banned in Delhi. Besides, BS-3 petrol and BS-4 diesel four-wheelers have also been banned.
Artificial Rain Under Consideration – Gopal Rai
Minister Gopal Rai stated that if the air quality deteriorates further, measures like artificial rain can be considered.
He also informed that under the third phase of GRAP, construction and demolition activities have been banned in Delhi. Rai said, “We are working on making GRAP-3 measures more effective in Delhi.”
