RSA Vs IND: India and South Africa were the finalists of the T20 World Cup 2024 played in the United States Of America and West Indies. The Men in Blue and The Proteas also had a faced-off in a four-match series of the shortest format which had ended yesterday at the Wanders Stadium in Johannesburg. Only three skippers from India have won a T20 International series in the Proteas Nation against South Africa and we shall name those captains in this segment today.
1. Virender Sehwag –
Viru Paaji was the first ever Indian captain to win a series of the shortest format in the Proteas Nation against RSA. India and South Africa had played one off T20I match in Johannesburg and that was the first ever game played in T20. Sachin Tendulkar also played that game. The Blues won that lone game by six wickets with one ball to spare.
Dinesh Mongia was the highest run-getter in that match. He scored 38 runs. With the white cherry, Zaheer Khan and Ajit Agarkar were the highest wicket-takers for India in this T20 International match. Zak and Agarkar picked up two wickets each. Dinesh Karthik was the first ever player from India to get a Player Of The Match Award. DK scored an unbeaten 31 runs to his name.
2. Virat Kohli –
The King is the second skipper from the Men in Blue nation to win the series of the shortest format against South Africa in the Proteas Nation. After the loss in the series of the red ball format, India under the leadership of Virat Kohli won the white ball series in South Africa. King Kohli was also the first-ever skipper of India to win an ODI series in South Africa. He achieved this feat on the tour of the Proteas Nation in 2017 and 2018.

- 2nd T20I Match – South Africa won by six wickets at SuperSport Park in Centurion
- 3rd T20I Match – India won by seven runs at Newlands in Cape Town.

India’s Highest Wicket Taker In The Three Match T20I Series – Bhuveshwar Kumar picked up 7 scalps in three matches of the shortest format.
3. Suryakumar Yadav –
India’s T20 specialist batter is the skipper of the team in the shortest format. India and South Africa played in a four-match series of the T20 International form of the game, and the Men in Blue won that series by a margin of 3-1 under Suryakumar Yadav.
- 1st T20I – India won by 61 runs at Kingsmead in Durban.
- 2nd T20I – South Africa won by three wickets at St. George’s Park in Gqeberha
- 3rd T20I – India won by 11 runs at SuperSport Park in Centurion
- 4th T20I – India won by 135 runs at The Wanders Stadium in Johannesburg.
