According to ISKCON temple officials, Chinmoy Prabhu was reportedly detained by officers from the Dhaka Police’s intelligence branch at Dhaka airport.

Chinmoy Prabhu has been vocal about the atrocities against Hindus following the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government. Just on Friday, he had addressed a large protest rally in Rangpur.

Bangladesh: Hindus Under Attack After Sheikh Hasina’s Departure

Hindu minorities have been under attack in Bangladesh since the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government following a student movement. Hindus and their religious places were targeted during student protests. ISKCON temples in Khulna and Meherpur in Bangladesh were also targeted in these attacks.

In response to these attacks, Chinmoy Prabhu had expressed deep concern about the safety of Hindu temples. He claimed that the Hindu community in Chittagong has been requesting help from the police and the Rapid Action Battalion. However, they have yet to receive any response or assistance.

Chinmoy Prabhu also stated, “Many Hindus and other minorities are feeling unsafe and are fleeing to India via West Bengal and Tripura.”

Bangladeshi Hindus Unite Against Atrocities

Hindus in Bangladesh have come together to protest against the atrocities being committed against them. In October, thousands of Bangladeshi Hindus took to the streets in Chittagong demanding their rights and protection.

Under the banner of Bangladesh Sanatan Jagran Manch, the protesters put forward several demands to the interim government led by Professor Muhammad Yunus.

The protesting Hindus called for the formation of fast-track courts to address crimes against minorities. They also insisted that the perpetrators receive severe punishment for their actions. They also demanded proper compensation and rehabilitation for the victims.
