The NIA has intensified its crackdown on notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s rival Bambiha gang. Indian investigative agencies have conducted raids at multiple locations following the arrest of one of its gangsters Arsh Dalla in Canada.
In a major operation linked to the terror-gangster syndicate case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday carried out extensive raids at over nine locations linked to associates of the Davinder Bambiha gang in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
NIA Raids in Haryana, Punjab, and UP
The NIA teams conducted raids at several locations in Palwal, Faridabad and Gurugram in Haryana, Jalandhar in Punjab and Mathura in Uttar Pradesh. During the searches, they seized several incriminating materials including mobile/digital devices, documents related to banking transactions and property records.
These raids were part of the NIA crackdown on criminal conspiracies by terror organisations involved in smuggling of arms, ammunition, narcotics, explosives and other things within India.
The NIA had earlier arrested two shooters of the Bambiha gang, Harry Maur and Harry Rajpura, on 23 November 2023. The authorities arrested another accused, Rajiv Kumar, who had sheltered them, on 12 January 2024.
Harry Maur and Harry Rajpura were working as a sleeper cell and were planning several terrorist attacks on the instructions of gangster Arsh Dalla. The National Investigation Agency is actively investigating the case.
According to the central agency, Harry Maur and Harry Rajpura were shooters of the gang, tasked with carrying out targeted killings.
Rajiv Kumar, alias Sheela, was receiving funds from Arsh Dalla to shelter Harry Maur and Harry Rajpura. The NIA investigation also revealed that Rajiv Kumar was arranging logistical support and weapons for the other two under Arsh Dalla’s instructions.
