Kia Syros will come with a 2-spoke steering wheel, aircraft throttle-like gear shifter, push-button start/stop and dual-tone interior theme. The Korean brand has given this information by releasing a new teaser of the car today (December 10).
According to media reports, the company has also started its offline booking at some dealerships. Kia will offer the Syros with options for a 1.0 turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5 diesel engine. The company will position it between the Sonet and the Seltos.
The price of Kia Syros may start from Rs 9 lakh
On December 19, the company will introduce the SUV to the global market. Autocar India reports that the announcement of the car’s price may occur at the India Mobility Show in January, where the event will showcase the car to the general public for the first time.
The price of Syros can start from Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom). We expect that delivery will start in late January or early February. Currently, there is no direct comparison to it in India.
Kia Syros will get a gear shifter like an aircraft throttle
Kia has given a glimpse of the cabin of the Syros in the new teaser. It shows a gear shifter like an aircraft throttle, push-button start/stop, a 2-spoke steering wheel with controls for drive and terrain modes, and multiple Type-C USB ports.
The car has two switches below the push-button start/stop, which are for parking sensors and a 360-degree camera. The teaser also shows a black and brown theme in the cabin of the Syros. Apart from this, LED headlights and electric panoramic sunroof have also been shown in the new teaser.
Exterior: Flush doors with LED lighting setup
Kia India has also recently shared teasers of the car on the social media platform X. In these, some design elements of the car have been shown by the company.
The Syros will get vertically stacked 3-pod LED headlights, with long LED DRLs on the side. The design of the SUV will also get a sharp kink in the window beltline along with a large window panel, flat roof and C-pillar.
According to the teaser sketch, the design will feature raised wheel arches, shoulder lines, and flush-fitting door handles. Designers will complete its exterior with long roof rails, L-shaped tail lights, and an upright tailgate. The car can get 16-inch crystal-cut alloy wheels.
Cabin and Features: 10.25-inch digital driver display
The design team can give the cabin of the Syros a dual-tone interior theme like that of the Sonet and Seltos. They can place a new 10.25-inch digital driver display on the dashboard. However, according to the recently leaked photo, they will introduce a new 2-spoke steering wheel.
Apart from this, the car offers features like an infotainment touchscreen with over 70 connected car features, ventilated front seats, a 4-way power adjustable driver seat, a 7-speaker Bose audio system, wireless phone charging, an in-built air purifier, a 360-degree camera, and a voice-operated sunroof.
Performance: Multiple engine options will be available like Sonet
Like Sonet, the performance in Syros can offer multiple engine and transmission options. In this case, the entry-level variant can feature a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that delivers 82 bhp power and 115 Nm torque, connected to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
At the same time, there will be an option of a 1-litre turbo petrol engine with 118bhp power and 172Nm torque, which will come with two transmission options 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and a 6-speed clutchless manual.
In addition to this, the manufacturer will offer a 1.5-litre diesel engine that delivers 114bhp power and 250Nm torque, along with the choice of a 6-speed clutchless manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Safety Features: 17 autonomous level-2 features can be available
For safety, the Syros will get features like Electronic Brake Distribution, Emergency Stop Signal, Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) and Antilock Brake System (ABS) like Sonet and Seltos. Apart from this, 6 airbags will be provided as standard in all variants.
Apart from this, 17 autonomous level-2 features can be given in Syros like Seltos. These include Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Front Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keep Assist, Rear Blind Spot Collision Avoidance and Autonomous Emergency Braking.
