Ola-Uber Charges: Notice to cab aggregators after reports of charging different fares
CCPA has sent this notice to cab aggregators after reports that both companies charge different fares for the same service. When passengers book a cab for the same place, different Ola-Uber charges are shown on Android and iPhone.
This matter came into the limelight in December when a user shared a picture of two phones, which allegedly showed different fares for a particular location on the Uber app.
As soon as that post went viral, Uber denied the allegations while responding to the allegations. The company blamed the pick-up point, estimated arrival time (ETA) and drop-off point, among other things, for any difference in fares.
The app shows a higher amount to regular customers After these screenshots were shared on social media, we also checked the fare from MP Nagar in Bhopal to Raja Bhoj Airport on the Ola app on iPhone and Android devices. In this, the fare was showing us Rs 310-301 in Android.
On the other hand, this fare was Rs 322-368 in iPhone. On checking for the second time, Android was showing a higher fare. That is, at many places the money is more in Android and at some places in iPhone. Experts say that this happens due to user behavior. If you are a regular customer, you will have to pay more no matter which device you have because the app tracks your every activity.
