Massive Fire Breaks Out Again at Mahakumbh, Several Tents Destroyed

Mahakumbh: A massive fire broke out once again in Prayagraj Mahakumbh on Thursday (30 January). This fire broke out in Sector 22 of the Mahakumbh area, causing chaos at the spot. Many tents were burnt to ashes in the fire, after which the fire brigade team reached the spot and controlled the fire.

The fire originated near the Chhatnang Ghat in the Jhusi area of Sector 22. The fire was so fierce that the flames could be seen from a distance. As soon as the information was received, the fire brigade team reached the spot and after a lot of hard work, the fire was brought under control.

Mahakumbh: Millions Worth of Goods Destroyed

The good news from the fire is that no casuality was reported. The fire broke out at around 1:45 pm, causing a loss of lakhs of rupees and burning many tents to ashes. Thankfully, all the people present there are safe. After a lot of hard work, the fire department controlled the fire in a few minutes.

Several Tents Destroyed

Giving details, a police officer said, “We received information that the tents had caught fire. On reaching the spot, we found that 15 tents had caught fire. We acted immediately, doused the fire and brought the fire under control.” He further said, “There were some difficulties due to lack of proper access to the site, but now everything is under control.”

Regarding the incident, Chief fire officer (Kumbh) Pramod Sharma said that the tents were set up unauthorizedly. The SDM has also confirmed that the tents were set up unauthorizedly. This area comes under Chamanganj police station.

Mahakumbh: Previous Fire Incidents

It is worth noting that incidents of fire have happened twice before this. There was chaos after two cars caught fire in Sector 2 of Mahakumbh Mela. However, there were no casualties and the fire brigade reached in time and brought the situation under control.

Earlier on January 19, another fire incident took place after the explosion of around three gas cylinders in Sector 19 of Mahakumbh Mela. However, the fire was quickly brought under control by the fire brigade and there were no casualties.
