Mahakumbh: “Avoid Travelling to Prayagraj for Next Few Days,” Urges Madhya Pradesh CM; Warns of Heavy Traffic

Mahakumbh: A grand Mahakumbh is being organized in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, with over 44 crore devotees having already taken the holy dip. Meanwhile, a continuous influx of pilgrims is still heading towards Prayagraj, causing severe traffic congestion on all routes leading to the city.

Amid heavy traffic jams in several districts of Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has urged devotees to avoid travelling to Prayagraj for the next few days.

Mahakumbh: MP CM Requests Devotees to Delay Travel to Prayagraj

In the past few days, heavy traffic congestion has been observed in Jabalpur, Seoni, Katni, Maihar, Satna, and Rewa districts. A large number of people are travelling to Prayagraj by road for the Mahakumbh.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said, “There is a lot of traffic pressure in the areas around Prayagraj, especially in Rewa district, as people from other states are also travelling via this route. I urge everyone to avoid travelling on this road for the next few days.”

MP Government in Touch with Prayagraj Administration

CM Mohan Yadav stated that the huge crowd has posed challenges in managing the arrangements for the Mahakumbh and the state government is in constant touch with the Prayagraj administration.

He said, “We are fortunate that such a large number of devotees are coming to Prayagraj for the Mahakumbh. However, we are also concerned about their safety and well-being.”

The Chief Minister assured that the state government has made necessary arrangements for the pilgrims along the Yatra routes, including food, water and other essential facilities. He also informed that many social organizations are actively involved in assisting in these arrangements.

Mahakumbh: Over 44 Crore Devotees Take a Holy Dip

The Mahakumbh, which began on January 13 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, will continue till February 26. According to official figures, over 44 crore devotees have taken a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam till February 9. On Monday, February 10 alone, till 10 am, over 63 lakh devotees had performed the ritual bath.
