Suicide cases are not stopping in Kota, the coaching hub of Rajasthan. On Tuesday, an 18-year-old NEET aspirant was found hanging in his PG room. The deceased has been identified as Ankush Meena, who was a resident of Sawai Madhopur.
On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. No suicide note has been found at the spot, the police have started investigating the case.

No Signs of Study Stress
Dadabari police station circle inspector Menge Lal Yadav said that Ankush Meena was preparing for NEET (NEET-UG) in Kota for the last one and a half years. He lived in a PG room in Pratap Nagar.
On Tuesday morning, one of his cousins living in his neighbourhood found him hanging from the fan. The body has been sent for post-mortem. Initial investigation suggests that he committed suicide due to a love affair.
Head constable Jitendra said that a case has been registered under section 194 of the BNSS Act. On receiving information about the suicide, a police team reached the PG residence in Pratap Nagar.
Ankush was a bright student and had scored good marks in the regular examinations of his institute. He did not show any signs of stress regarding studies. After receiving information about the incident, his family members have also reached there.
Kota: Seventh Case in 42 Days
This is the seventh time in the last 42 days that a student has committed suicide in Kota, known as a coaching hub. In January alone, six coaching students – five JEE candidates and one NEET candidate – committed suicide. A total of 17 coaching students committed suicide in 2024.
