Amarnath Yatra 2025: The schedule of Amarnath Yatra has been released. This year devotees will be able to visit Baba Barfani from 3 July to 9 August. It was decided in the meeting of Shrine Board that Amarnath Yatra will start on 3 July 2025 and end on 9 August 2025.
The meeting was chaired by Amarnath Shrine Board Chairman and Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. Senior officials including Jammu and Kashmir DGP Nalin Prabhat and Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo attended the meeting.
Significance of the Amarnath Yatra in Hinduism
The Amarnath Yatra is an annual religious pilgrimage to the Amarnath cave in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir by devotees of Lord Shiva. The pilgrimage holds immense significance in Hinduism, as the cave contains a sacred ice lingam, which is worshipped as the incarnation of Lord Shiva. Every year, the pilgrimage is considered a deeply spiritual and important event for devotees.
Amarnath Yatra 2025: Special Security Arrangements by the Government
Tight security arrangements will be made for the Amarnath Yatra this year. Both the trust and the government will ensure special provisions for the pilgrims, including accommodation, food service (langar) and other necessary facilities to make the journey smooth and safe.
The Amarnath Yatra is undertaken through two main routes. The Pahalgam route, which is 48 km long, is considered easier for travellers. On the other hand, the Baltal route, which is only 14 km long, is more challenging due to its steep and difficult hills.
Amarnath Yatra 2025: Registration Process and Required Documents
The registration for the Amarnath Yatra will be done both online and offline. To complete the registration, devotees will need documents such as Aadhaar card, passport, voter ID or driving license along with a passport-size photo.
Last year, the registration process began on April 17, and a similar arrangement is being planned this year as well.
