TATA IPL 2025: The Indian Premier League season in 2025 will start on 22nd March 2025 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The first match of the TATA IPL 2025 season is scheduled between the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
The team of Delhi Capitals (DC) is looking for a new captain in this TATA IPL 2025 after the management of DC released Rishabh Pant and Kannur Lokesh Rahul also didn’t take up the responsibility because Rahul wants to play only as a player and he doesn’t want to take up the captaincy responsibility.
So, Here Are The Three Players For Delhi Capitals Who Can Lead The Team In TATA IPL 2025 –
1. Axar Patel –
The spin bowling all-rounder of Team India and Delhi Capitals, Axar Patel is the front runner for the captaincy job in TATA IPL 2025. Axar has done well as a player for the Men in Blue and he was also a part of the T20 World Cup 2024 win and ICC Champions Trophy 2025 triumph.
Axar now has a lot of experience by playing under the leadership of Rohit Sharma in the Indian Team. So now is the time for him to use all those learnings in this year’s TATA IPL 2025. Last year, Delhi Capitals didn’t do that well. But this year they would want to give a better performance, especially for the fans of DC.
2. Faf Du Plessis –
The South African legend, Faf Du Plessis was the skipper of Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2024 season. But now Faf has been released from the squad and he can be the choice for Delhi Capitals as their skipper in TATA IPL 2025. Faf had played for RCB, RPS and CSK. He was the orange cap holder when CSK clinched their fourth title in IPL 2021 edition.
Faf Du Plessis has good experience in leading the side. He was also the skipper of South Africa as well in the International Cricket arena. If Faf leads the DC franchise team in TATA IPL 2025, then there might be a possible chance for the Capitals team to reach at least the playoff spot in this edition.
3. Kuldeep Yadav –
The chinman bowler Kuldeep Yadav can also be thought of as a captaincy material. Kuldeep has done well for India in recent years and he also has been a good performer for the Delhi Capitals team. Just like Axar, Kuldeep is also a winner of T20 World Cup last year and the ICC Champions Trophy winner this year in 2025. Yadav too might have learned a lot from MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma, which can be used in TATA IPL 2025 now for DC.
