Tamil Nadu Polls: Ahead of the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, an alliance has been formed between the BJP and AIADMK. The announcement was made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Today, a crucial meeting took place between Amit Shah and AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami, during which the path for the alliance was finalized.
Amit Shah said that the leaders of AIADMK and BJP have decided by mutual consent to contest the upcoming Tamil Nadu elections together with other allies.
He said that at the national level the elections will be fought under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while at the state level the leadership will be in the hands of AIADMK’s Edappadi Palaniswami.
Amit Shah expressed confidence and said, “I am confident that the NDA will win the upcoming elections with a huge majority and once again the NDA government will be formed in Tamil Nadu. We will fight the elections together under the leadership of EPS and win.”

During the press conference, Amit Shah said that AIADMK is a part of the NDA alliance and both will form the government together. He said that after winning the elections, the decision about BJP’s participation in the government will be taken at the right time. At the right time, a decision will also be taken on ministerial posts and seat sharing.
He stressed that the AIADMK has not made any demands and the BJP will not interfere in the internal affairs of the AIADMK. He said that AIADMK joining the NDA is beneficial for both the AIADMK and the BJP.
BJP Will Expose DMK’s ₹39,000 Crore Scams, Including Liquor and MNREGA: Amit Shah
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the DMK is raising issues related to Sanatan Dharma and language only to divert people’s attention. He said that the BJP will expose the corruption of the DMK government, which is involved in scams worth Rs 39,000 crore, including the liquor and MNREGA scams. According to Shah, the people of Tamil Nadu will never forgive Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and Udhayanidhi Stalin.
He said the DMK was also using the issues of NEET and delimitation to divert public attention from real issues. If needed, the NDA would formulate a common minimum programme in Tamil Nadu.
Amit Shah emphasised that the Narendra Modi government is proud of the Tamil language and Tamil culture. He highlighted how the Modi government established the Sengol in Parliament and took initiatives such as Kashi Tamil Sangamam and Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam to celebrate Tamil heritage.
