But many of them have forgotten that Ishant Sharma, India’s former pace bowler is the first-ever Indian to take five wickets in an innings with the Pink Cherry. Sharma Ji the bowler, achieved this feat in India’s first Day Night Test encounter played in Kolkata.
Ishant picked up five wickets in the 1st innings which helped the home side of that game, India to bundle out Bangladesh for just 106 runs and in the second innings as well, Ishant was on song when he picked up four scalps to his name and that allowed India to win the Pink Ball match by an innings and 46 runs.

The third match of the series between India and England was played as a Day-Night Test match and it was played with the Pink Ball. England and India won the first two matches which were played in Chennai and the series was also levelled to one all. Both teams were eyeing for a series lead when the third match was played at Shri Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The visitors, England batted first in that game and they could muster just 112 runs in their 1st innings. Axar Patel was the one who dented the batting lineup of England. Patel picked up a five-wicket haul to his name and he became the first ever Indian spinner to achieve this magnificent milestone.
India didn’t bat that well in their 1st innings as the home side of that series could score just 145 runs. The Men in Blue were in a strong position in that match. But Joe Root’s career-best bowling figures allowed a huge collapse and the hosts could manage just 145 runs on the board.
However, it was Axar Patel again who bailed India out in this match. After he picked up six wickets for just 38 runs in the 1st innings, Axar can ran through the batting lineup of England in their second innings. Patel picked up another five-wicket haul and the visitors, England were all out for just 81 runs in their second innings.
Axar Patel picked up his second five-wicket haul in a Test match and he is the only spin bowler in the world to achieve this humongous feat in the Day-Night Test matches. In the second innings of the third match of that four-match Test series, Axar had picked up five wickets for 32 runs in 15 overs and allowed India to win this 3rd match by 10 wickets.
