Bajaj Auto has today (August 3) launched the special edition of Bajaj popular electric scooter Chetak 3201 in the Indian market. The company claims the electric scooter can run 136km on full charge. It has been priced at Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom Bengaluru, including the EMPS-2024 scheme).
This price is introductory, which will later increase to Rs 1.40 lakh. You can also buy it from the e-commerce platform Amazon. The special edition is based on the top-spec premium variant of the scooter. The company has also changed its look and is available only in Brooklyn Black.
Bajaj electric scooter LED lighting setup with steel body
The company has not made any changes in the design of the electric scooter. It comes with a steel body as before. Its design and features are the same as the premium variant. The special edition of the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter has ‘Chetak’ decals on the side panel, scuff plate and dual-tone seat.
Apart from this, it has body-coloured rear view mirrors, a satin black grab rail and matching pillion footrest and a charcoal black finish to the headlamp casing. The electric scooter comes with disc brakes, alloy wheels, LED lighting, telescopic front suspension, metal body panels and battery IP67 waterproofing. For braking, drum brakes are fitted on both sides.
Features like hill-hold control and follow-me-home home light will be available
Talking about the features, the EV has turn-by-turn navigation, music control, call alert and coloured TFT display with a customizable theme, follow me home light and Bluetooth app connectivity.
Apart from this, hill-hold control and an extra ‘Sport’ ride mode are also available in the scooter as part of the Techpack software package. In India, Chetak competes with electric scooters like Ather Rizta Z, Ola S1 Pro and TVS i-Cube.
Bajaj electric scooter: Range of 136km on a full charge and a top speed of 73 kmph
The Chetak 3201 Special Edition gets a 3.2kWh battery pack, which gives a range of 136 km on a full charge. It takes 5 hours and 30 minutes to charge. This is more than the range of 127 km of the current premium model. The top speed of this electric scooter is 73 kmph.
