Bangladesh Wins U19 Asia Cup 2024, Defeating India by 59 Runs in the Final

Bangladesh has won the title by defeating India by 59 runs in the final of the U19 Asia Cup 2024. Team India’s batting performance was disappointing in this important match.

Indian captain Mohammad Amaan scored 26 runs, while Hardik Raj contributed 24 runs. Earlier, bowlers Yudhajit Guha, Chetan Sharma and Hardik performed brilliantly.

Bangladesh had set a target of 199 runs in front of India, but the Indian team collapsed for just 139 runs.

While chasing Bangladesh’s target, Indian openers Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi could not do anything special. Ayush was out after scoring just 1 run, while Vaibhav was out after scoring just 9 runs.

Andre Siddharth and KP Karthikeya tried to handle the innings. Siddharth scored 20 runs with the help of three fours, while Karthikeya added 21 runs before returning to the pavilion.

Captain Amaan Falls Short Too

Captain Mohammad Amaan was dismissed after scoring 26 runs. He faced 65 balls and hit only one four. Nikhil Kumar failed to open his account, while wicketkeeper batsman Harvansh Singh was dismissed after scoring just 6 runs. Kiran Chormale was also dismissed after scoring 1 run. Hardik Raj scored 24 runs off 21 balls, which included three fours.

India Loses the Title with a Defeat

All the efforts of Team India went in vain. After losing the first match of the tournament against Pakistan, India made a strong comeback by winning three consecutive matches and secured a place in the final.

However, they had to face another defeat in the title match. With this defeat, Team India missed out on winning the title of Under-19 Asia Cup 2024. The entire Indian team was all out for 139 runs in 35.2 overs.

Rizwan Hussain and Mohammad Shihab Shine for Bangladesh

Batting first against India, Bangladesh scored 198 runs. Rizwan Hussain played a brilliant innings of 47 runs, which included three fours.

Mohammad Shihab James played an innings of 40 runs, which included three fours and a six. Captain Azizul Haqim Tamim was out after scoring 16 runs, while Farid Hasan added 39 runs.
