Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother Anmol Bishnoi has been arrested in the US. According to sources, Anmol has been detained in California. The development comes shortly after US authorities recently confirmed his presence in the country, following which the Mumbai Police proposed his extradition.
Anmol Bishnoi is accused in several high-profile crimes, including the firing outside Salman Khan’s house and the Baba Siddique murder case.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has recently announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh to anyone providing information leading to the arrest of Anmol Bishnoi.
Accused in High-Profile Crimes
Anmol Bishnoi has been declared wanted by the Mumbai Police in connection with the firing incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartment in Bandra on April 14.
In the charge sheet filed in this case, the police have made Lawrence Bishnoi and Anmol Bishnoi accused. Anmol Bishnoi had taken responsibility for the firing outside Salman Khan’s house, due to which a lookout circular was issued against him.
Both are also accused in the murder case of NCP leader and former MLA Baba Siddiqui. On October 12, Siddiqui was shot dead by three armed assailants near the office of his MLA son Zeeshan Siddique.
The Mumbai Crime Branch investigation has revealed that after the murder of Baba Siddique, a big leader from Pune was also on the radar of the Bishnoi gang.
Recently, the Tihar Jail administration had increased security around Aftab Poonawala, accused in the Shraddha Walker murder case, as the investigation into Baba Siddique’s murder indicated that the Bishnoi gang was planning to target Poonawala.
Anmol Bishnoi’s Criminal Record
Anmol Bishnoi, also known as Bhanu, is also accused of murdering singer-politician Sidhu Moose Wala. In 2023, the agency filed a chargesheet against him in the case.
Reports suggest that he fled India using a fake passport. He is believed to be changing his location frequently and was reportedly spotted in Kenya last year and Canada this year.
According to a news report, Anmol Bishnoi has 18 criminal cases registered against him and has previously served a sentence in Jodhpur jail. He was released on bail on October 7, 2021.
Lawrence Bishnoi’s younger brother Anmol Bishnoi and his relative Sachin Bishnoi play a key role in running the gang. While Lawrence is behind bars, Anmol has taken the responsibility of ensuring that the gang does not face any problems, especially in financial matters.
According to the investigation report, Lawrence’s relative Sachin Bishnoi played a key role in planning and executing the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala. He is currently absconding and is believed to be hiding in another country and working for the gang from there.
