Budget 2025: Here are the top 10 big announcement
1. Income Tax
- Under the new tax regime, now no tax will have to be paid on income up to Rs 12 lakh.
- The TDS limit for senior citizens has been increased from ₹ 50 thousand to ₹ 1 lakh.
- The government will present a new income tax bill next week.
2. Cheap-Expensive
- 35 additional goods have been included in the list of exempted capital goods for EV battery manufacturing. This can make EVs cheaper.
- 28 additional goods have been included in the list of exempted capital goods for mobile phone battery manufacturing. This can make mobiles cheaper.
- The government has removed custom duty from 36 life saving medicines. This will make these medicines cheaper.
- Interactive flat panel display will be expensive. Custom duty increased from 10% to 20%.
3. Farmers
- Dhan Dhanya Yojana will be started. Under this, 100 districts will be covered, where production is low.
- Announcement to increase the limit of Kisan Credit Card to Rs 5 lakh. Currently the maximum limit of the card is Rs 3 lakh.
- A 6-year mission will be started for self-sufficiency in the production of pulses.
- Announcement to form Makhana Board. Bihar farmers will get help in Makhana cultivation.

4. Business
- Credit guarantee cover for MSME will be increased from Rs 5 crore to Rs 10 crore.
- New credit card with a limit of Rs 5 lakh for registered micro enterprises.
- A scheme will be started under Make in India for toy manufacturing.
- The loan limit of PM Swanidhi Scheme for street vendors will be increased to Rs 30 thousand.
5. Education
- All government secondary schools will be connected with broadband connectivity.
- Excellence centers related to AI education will be established at a cost of Rs 500 crore.
- 75 thousand seats will be added in medical colleges in 5 years. 10 thousand seats will be added next year.
- Seats will be doubled in 5 out of 6 IITs built after 2014. 6500 new students will be able to get admission.
6. Tourism and connectivity
- Plan to connect 120 new cities in the next 10 years through Udaan scheme.
- Announcement of plan to start Greenfield Airport Project in Bihar.
- 50 top tourist destinations will be developed in partnership with the states.
- Medical tourism will be promoted through ‘Heal in India’ scheme.
7. Health
- Plan to build day-care cancer centers in all district hospitals in the next 3 years. 200 day-care cancer centers will be built in 2025-26.
- Broadband connectivity will be provided in all primary health care centers.
- Gig workers (whose jobs are temporary) will be linked to Jan Arogya Yojana.
8. Infrastructure
- State governments will get ₹1.5 lakh crore for infrastructure development. This will be an interest free loan for 50 years.
- Rs 500 crore will be allocated to set up a Center of Excellence in AI.
- New asset monetization scheme for 2025-30. This will generate Rs 10 lakh crore to fund infrastructure projects.
9. Women
- A new scheme has been announced for 5 lakh women and SC/ST entrepreneurs. Under this, cheap business loans will be available.
- First time entrepreneurs will get a term loan of Rs 2 crore in 5 years.
- Under the Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 scheme, 8 crore girls and 1 crore pregnant and lactating women will get nutritional support.
10. Nuclear Mission
- Announcement to start a mission to develop 100GW nuclear energy by 2047.
- Active partnership will be done with the private sector to achieve this mission.
- Announcement of Nuclear Energy Mission for research and development of small modular reactors.
- At least 5 indigenously developed small modular reactors will be commissioned by 2033.
