BYD Sealion: Chinese company BYD’s premium electric coupe SUV Sealion 7 will be launched in India on 17 February. It was showcased at the Auto Expo 2025. Selion 7 will give a range of up to 567km on full charge. It will come in two variants – Premium and Performance.
Sealion 7 is the company’s fourth model in India after Seal, Atto 3 and eMax 7. The price of BYD Sealion 7 can start from Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with electric cars like Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 and Kia EV 6.

BYD Sealion: ₹ 70,000 discount on booking till 17 February
The company has already started booking the car. The special thing is that due to the ‘7’ theme, its booking amount is Rs 70,000 and the company is also giving a discount of Rs 70,000 on booking this SUV till 17 February. Apart from this, the company will also provide a 7kW AC charger free with 7 years / 1.50 lakh km warranty and free installation.
Exterior design: 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels will be available
The BYD Sealion 7 EV has the same headlight unit as the Seal EV. Apart from this, it has a closed-off grille, aggressive cut and crease line on the front bumper, and black colour finish below. 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels will be available on the side, while larger 20-inch wheels are optional. It has flush-type door handles and black rugged cladding above the wheel arch which extends to the full length of the car.
The rear has a connected LED tail light with pixel design elements and a rear bumper with black finish. There are also fog lamps on the bumper. For storage, it has a 58-liter frunk and 520-liter boot space.
The boot space can be increased to 1,789 liters by folding the rear seats. In India, the Silion 7 will be available in four monotone colors Atlantis Gray, Shark Gray, Cosmos Black and Aurora White. There is no dual-tone color option in this SUV.
Interior: 10.25-inch digital driver display and ADAS safety feature
Talking about the cabin of the Sealion 7, it has a 4-spoke steering wheel with heated grips and audio function on the dashboard and controls for Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). It has a drive selector knob on the center console, buttons for drive and terrain mode and two cup holders.
This SUV car has features like a rotatable 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, 10.25-inch digital driver display, 12-speaker sound system, head-up display and panoramic glass roof with sunshade. It has front seats with heating and ventilation function, which are also electric adjustable with memory function. Apart from this, features like 50W wireless phone charger, connected car tech and powered tailgate are also provided in the Sealion 7.
For safety, it has features like 11 airbags, 360 degree camera, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), front and rear parking sensors. It also has an ADAS system, which includes features like rear collision warning and adaptive cruise control.
Sealion 7 will give a range of 567km on full charge Sealion 7 is available in premium and performance variants. Both variants have an 82.5kWh LFP battery pack. The premium variant comes in rear-wheel-drive configuration, which generates 313hp of power and 380Nm of torque. At the same time, its performance variant comes with an all-wheel drive option, which generates 530hp of power and 690Nm of torque.
BYD claims that the premium variant of the Ceylon 7 can accelerate from 0-100kph in 6.7 seconds and the performance version in 4.5 seconds. The company claims that on full charge, its premium variant will give a range of 567km and the performance version will give a range of 542km.
