Champions Trophy 2025: The Champions Trophy is scheduled to be hosted by Pakistan next year. The Tour will begin on November 16 in Islamabad, and the final leg is reserved for India. After its time in India, the trophy will return to Pakistan.
As part of the preparations, the tournament’s trophy arrived in Islamabad, Pakistan, on November 14.
Initially, the Pakistani government announced plans to showcase the trophy in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). However, following objections raised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the ICC cancelled these plans.
The ICC has now released a revised Trophy Tour schedule, excluding PoK from the itinerary. According to the updated schedule, the trophy will embark on a 12-day tour of India. Apart from this, it will also travel to other participating nations as part of its global showcase.
Trophy Will Not Be Taken to Any PoK City
The Pakistani government initially planned to showcase the Champions Trophy across the country from November 16 to 24. This included taking the trophy to K2, the world’s second-highest mountain, as well as to three cities in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), including Muzaffarabad.
However, following objections from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the ICC intervened and instructed Pakistan to exclude PoK from the Trophy Tour. Consequently, the ICC has released a revised schedule for the Champions Trophy Tour. Here’s the updated itinerary.
