An incident from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh has come to light where a young man lay on the roof of a train because he couldn’t find a seat. When people saw him at the station, there was chaos. Subsequently, the railway administration brought him down.
What’s the entire matter
The incident took place at Kanpur Central Station around 1 am on Tuesday.
A young man named Dilip Kumar, hailing from Fatehpur district, traveled from Delhi to Kanpur Central, lying on the roof of coach B-11 of the Humsafar Express, which was coming from Anand Vihar Terminal to Gorakhpur.
It was revealed during the inquiry that Dilip decided to undertake the 400 km journey in this manner due to the unavailability of a seat on the train.
Due to this incident, the train took a stoppage of 20 minutes
After talking to the Railway Magistrate, Dilip revealed that he is from Fatehpur district. He did not get a seat on the train to go home, so he climbed onto the roof of the train and lay down there. Due to the wind, he fell asleep and ended up in Kanpur.
There are 25,000-volt lines above the train. If Dilip had been brought down, it could have been a big shock.
Therefore, the electricity line was shut down in haste and he was brought down. Due to this, train operations were halted for about 20 minutes in both the station premises and outer areas.
The charge station stated that if he had stood up in the middle of the tracks, he could have been hit by the OHE, which could have been a major accident. After Dilip safely descended from the roof of the train, he was presented before the Railway Magistrate. He was fined and sent to jail after paying the fine.
