Delhi Assembly Elections: The Election Commission on Tuesday announced the schedule for the Delhi Assembly elections. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that voting for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be held in a single phase on February 5, 2025 and the results will be declared on February 8, 2025.
According to CEC Rajiv Kumar, 1,55,24,858 voters are eligible to vote in this election, including 83.49 lakh male voters and 71.73 lakh female voters. A total of 13,033 polling stations will be set up for the elections.
The Chief Election Commissioner also informed that senior citizens above 85 years of age and Divyang voters will have the option to vote from home. Wheelchairs and ramps will be arranged to ensure accessibility for those who want to vote at polling stations.

Delhi Assembly Elections 2025: AAP Aims for Third Victory
The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), facing corruption charges, is eyeing a third consecutive victory in Delhi, while the BJP is making all efforts to turn the tables. The Congress, contesting independently, is also in the fray.
The AAP won sweeping victories in the 2015 and 2020 elections, securing 67 and 62 seats respectively. The BJP had to be content with 3 seats in 2015 and 8 seats in 2020, while the Congress failed to win any seat.
The AAP has announced its candidates on all 70 seats in Delhi. The BJP has announced 29 seats and the Congress 48 candidates.
Kejriwal to Contest Again from New Delhi
Former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will once again contest from the New Delhi Assembly seat. This time he will face Congress’ Sandeep Dikshit and BJP’s Parvesh Verma. Kejriwal has been continuously contesting elections from this seat and has a strong hold in this area.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Atishi is contesting from the Kalkaji seat, where she will face Congress’s Alka Lamba and BJP’s former MP Ramesh Bidhuri.
On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, AAP launched its campaign song “Phir Layenge Kejriwal”, which highlights the benefits of electricity and water subsidies currently being offered under the AAP government in Delhi. The song also outlines key promises for the upcoming election, including a monthly allowance of ₹2,100 for women above 18 years of age and free treatment for senior citizens in both private and government hospitals.
