Even the police in the national capital, Delhi, are now facing threats from hackers. On Tuesday, hackers briefly hacked Delhi Police X account (formerly known as Twitter). The account was compromised for a short time but was recovered soon after.
However, it is not yet clear who was responsible for hacking the Delhi Police account, as no information has been revealed about the culprits yet.
Hackers Changed the Name
On Tuesday evening, Delhi Police’s X account was hacked. After gaining access to the account, the hackers changed its name to “MagIc Edem”. They also changed the account’s cover photo and profile picture. However, after a lot of effort, Delhi Police managed to recover the account.
The police are still investigating the case, but no further information has been revealed yet regarding the incident.
Goa CM’s Email Was Also Hacked
Recently, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s personal email account was hacked for some time. A senior official said that during the investigation it was found that the Gmail account did not suffer any major damage due to the hacking incident that took place on the night of November 19.
“The Cyber Crime Cell of Goa Police acted promptly and restored the personal Gmail ID of the Chief Minister within four to five hours,” the official said. Investigation is still on to identify the hacker, the official added. The Gmail ID of the Chief Minister is linked to YouTube and other social media platforms.
