Electric Activa – Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India is preparing to launch its first electric two-wheeler in India on November 27. This could be the Electric Activa (E-activa). The company has released a teaser of the electric activa, showing two different types of digital instrument clusters, which indicates that it will be offered in 2 variants.
The company says that this scooter will be as powerful as the Activa 110 and will get a range of 100km on a single charge. It will also be launched with a swappable battery. The company recently introduced its concept model at the auto show EICMA in Milan, Italy. After launch, Electric Activa will compete with the TVS i-Cube, Ather Rizta, Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak and Ola S1 range.
Electric Activa – Turn-by-turn navigation and music control
The teaser shows that the lower variant of the Activa Electric will get a 5-inch TFT display, while the top variant will get a 7-inch multi-colour screen. The touch screen will show the battery charger, range left, speed, mode, Bluetooth connectivity, service alert and many important information. Apart from this, features like turn-by-turn navigation and music control will also be available in the e-scooter.
At the same time, the TFT display of the base variant of the e-scooter will show information like speedometer, battery percentage, odometer and travel data. According to the previous teaser, the electric scooter will have a swingarm-mounted motor. Apart from this, a glimpse of the LED headlamp and seat has also been seen. The electric scooter will also be given an all-LED lighting setup and USB-C charging port.
Design: The electric activa will come with three colour options
The concept model CUVe of the e-scooter was recently introduced at the automotive show EICMA held in Milan, Italy. The e-Activa has a traditional scooter design, which looks quite simple. The headlight is provided on the front panel, while the Activa petrol version has a headlight on the handlebar. The electric scooter will be offered with three colour options. These include Pearl Jubilee White, Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic and Premium Silver Metallic.
The Honda electric scooter has telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. It uses a 190mm front disc and a 110mm drum brake at the rear. It has 12-inch alloy wheels on both sides. The e-Activa will have a wheelbase of 1,310mm, seat height of 765mm and ground clearance of 270mm.
Performance: 104 KM range on a full charge with a removable battery
According to media reports, the Honda electric activa will be equipped with a swingarm-mounted electric motor with a maximum power of 6kW. The scooter will have three riding modes – Standard, Sport and Eco. Apart from this, physical key and reverse modes will also be available as standard.
To power the motor, two removable batteries of 1.3kWh will be available, which will give a range of 104km on a single charge and its top speed will be 80kmph. The electric scooter will take 3 hours to charge from 0 to 75% and it will take 6 hours to charge from 0 to 100% with a standard charger.
