Google’s Fold Phone: Tech company Google has launched the Pixel 9 smartphone series at the ‘Made by Google’ event on August 13. The company has launched four smartphones Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold in this series. Google has also launched its first foldable phone in India.
The sale details of the phone have not yet been announced by the company. It is expected that the sale of Pixel 9 Pro Fold will start in India from next month i.e. September. This smartphone is equipped with many AI features.
Apart from this, it has a 50MP camera. At the same time, recently South Korean tech company Samsung has launched the ‘Galaxy Z Fold 6’ smartphone at the Galaxy Unpacked Event 2024. The price of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is ₹ 164,999. It is more costly than Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

Google is far behind Apple and Samsung
According to a 2022 data from analyst firm IDC, Google sold only 27.6 million phones since the release of the first Pixel phone in 2016. Whereas in 2021 alone, Samsung sold 272 million phones. Apple sold 235 million phones during this period.

Despite these challenges, however, Pixel phones have a large number of loyal fans who appreciate the company for delivering a pure Android experience. Google is now increasing the availability of its Pixel phones in more countries. Apart from this, it is making major changes from AI to camera. Therefore, it is possible that the sales of Pixel phones will increase in the coming years.
