Election 2024: The Election Commission will announce the assembly election schedule in the country on Friday, August 16. In the press conference at 3 pm, it will be told in which states the assembly elections are going to be held. It is estimated that in this conference the dates for the assembly elections in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir will be announced. This is because the term of Haryana Assembly will end on November 3.

On the other hand, regarding Jammu and Kashmir, the Supreme Court had directed the government to conduct elections here by September 30 because elections have not been held here since the removal of Article 370. The Election Commission also wants the same, due to which it has recently visited Jammu and Kashmir to take stock of the election preparations. Let us now tell you what changes can come after the elections.

What changed in Jammu and Kashmir

Let us tell you that the last elections in Jammu and Kashmir were held in 2014. After that no elections were held. In such a situation, the elections to be held after 10 years are very special for everyone. Now if we talk about the changes, the biggest change is that it has now become a union territory from a state. Ladakh is also not a part of it now.

The biggest thing is that earlier the tenure of the government here used to be 6 years, but now it will be only 5 years. The number of assembly seats here has also increased to 90.

How many seats in 2014 elections

During the 2014 assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, voting was held on 87 seats. Out of which PDP got 28 seats, and BJP won 25 seats. National Conference won 15 seats and Congress won 12 seats.

Election date has arrived

The Election Commission has announced the dates of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana.
In Jammu and Kashmir, elections will be held in three phases, whereas in Haryana, elections will be held in only one phase.
The first phase will be on 18th September, the second on 25th September and the third on 01st October. Elections will be held in Haryana also on 01 October. Elections will be held on 90 seats in both the states. While on one hand there are more than 2 crore voters in Haryana, on the other hand there are currently 87.09 lakh voters in Jammu and Kashmir. The results of these elections will come on 04 October.
