The North India based film ‘Santosh’ is the story of a woman who gets a police job in place of her husband after his death. But then a little girl gets murdered there. The writer and producer of this film is Sandhya Suri. The lead character of Santosh in this film is played by well-known Indian actress Shahana Goswami. Along with her, ‘Panchayat’ and ‘Gullak’ fame actress Sunita Rajwar is also there. Along with this, actors like Kushal Dubey, Naval Shukla, Sanjay Awasthi are also in supporting roles in it. According to Deadline’s report, the film Santosh has been selected by BAFTA. This organization has been appointed to submit entries from the UK.
Why did UK select a Hindi film?
According to the rules of the Academy, most of the works sent for the Best International Feature category should be non-English, so UK has selected this film.

Who is Sandhya Suri?
Sandhya Suri is a British-Indian filmmaker. Suri has stepped into feature film direction with ‘Santosh’. She has been making documentary films before and has received praise for her documentary ‘I for India’ released in 2005 and ‘Around India with a Movie Camera’ released in 2018. Sandhya got a place in the Directors Lab of Sundance Institute in 2016, and after this she started working on ‘Santosh’.
