CSK: The Yellow Army’s performance in the 18th edition of the TATA IPL 2025 has been poor until now. They have won just 2 matches in this edition. Those wins for CSK came against the Mumbai Indians in their opening encounter and the team of Lucknow Super Giants.
The batters of CSK haven’t shown any intent while batting. CSK has a poor batting average in the first six overs, and at the same time, the bowlers haven’t found the right lines and lengths in this season of the TATA IPL 2025. Even under the leadership of Captain MS Dhoni, the Yellow Army has let their fans down in this edition.
CSK didn’t qualify for the top four of the Indian Premier League last year as well, and this year also, the fans of the Yellow Army would be very disappointed with their team if the five-time champions don’t make it to the playoffs in the 18th edition of this franchise league tournament.
CSK have been a consistent team in the IPL. They are the team that has reached the finals the most times. But in the 2020 and 2022 seasons of the Indian Premier League, the Super Kings have ended in this T20 event in the league stages, and if they don’t win their remaining matches, then this 2025 edition will be the third time that Dhoni and Co would end the tournament in the league stage.
How Can Still CSK Qualify For The Playoffs In TATA IPL 2025?
CSK is in the last position of the points table with just 2 wins and six losses. Ayush Mahatre in yesterday’s game, Rachin Ravindra in the first match of the season and MSD in the match-winning game versus LSG are the only positives for them till now with the bat.
Noor Ahmed is the only shining lit with the ball while the likes of Khaleel Ahmed, Jamie Overton, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja haven’t been that successful in this season. Matheesha Pathirana too hasn’t fired for the Yellow Army, which is also a sign of concern.
Six matches are still remaining for the five time champions to book their playoff berth in the TATA IPL 2025. If six win all six then they would go to 16 points. If they loss even one match, then their season of IPL 2025 would be over and CSK shall play those remaining games for pride.
In those six remaining matches, the Yellow Army would be playing 3 matches on their home ground, the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and the three matches would be away from home played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and Shri Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
