The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad) has taken a major step by announcing its first international campus. The campus will be set up at Dubai International Academic City.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the UAE government and IIM-A to formalise the collaboration. This historic initiative comes after the recent meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
MoU Signed Between IIM Ahmedabad and UAE Authorities
The MoU was signed by Professor Bharat Bhasker, Director, IIM Ahmedabad, and Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General, Department of Economy and Tourism, Dubai. The establishment of this campus will significantly strengthen the educational partnership between India and the UAE.
Sharing the update on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), IIM-A wrote, “We are thrilled to expand our global footprint. The new international campus of IIM Ahmedabad will be set up at Dubai International Academic City.”
When Will the First MBA Program Begin?
The campus aims to enhance the global reputation of Indian education, with its first MBA programme scheduled to start in September 2025. This move by IIM Ahmedabad will provide world-class educational opportunities not only to the Indian community living in the UAE but also to international students from other countries.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan called it a proud moment for India’s higher education system. He called it an important milestone in the establishment of global Indian institutions under the National Education Policy (NEP).
