During engine testing, a tourist boat overturned after being hit by a Navy boat. Due to which many people were injured and many were rescued.
A big accident took place in Mumbai, Maharashtra on Wednesday evening. Where a tourist boat named Neelkamal going from Gateway of India to Elephanta Caves collided with a Navy boat and overturned. 13 people including 1 Navy personnel have died in this accident. However, 115 people have been rescued.
Tourist boat collided due to high speed
Let us tell you that at the time when this accident happened, the Navy boat was testing its engine. The driver of the speed boat could not control the speed due to which the tourist boat overturned. After the incident, there was a cry among the people, hearing which the Indian Navy, Coast Guard and Police carried out the rescue operation. Fortunately, the accident happened near the beach, and people were wearing life jackets. Due to which it became easy to save people.
Police filed FIR
After the incident, police have filed a case against the driver of the speed boat and further action is being taken. Apart from this, cases have also been filed against other people. Sources say that the boat that overturned had a seating capacity of only 80 people but there were many more people on board.
The speed boat was doing stunts
A person on the tourist boat said that he felt that the speed boat was doing some stunt. That is why he was recording its video. But within a few moments the speed boat lost its balance and collided with the ferry. This video is now going viral on social media.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced an assistance amount of Rs 5 lakh to the families of those who died in the accident
