Ashwin and Jadeja were the overnight batters who were unbeaten on day one. Ash was not out on 102 runs while Jaddu was unbeaten on 86 runs. Despite being settled, the two Ravi’s of India didn’t allow the score to get past the 400 run mark. Jaddu was the first one to go and he didn’t add any more runs to his yesterday’s score. Akashdeep played some lusty blows and perished for 17 runs while Ashwin, the lone century maker of this game as of now was also out for 113 runs.

In reply, Bangladesh couldn’t handle the Indian pacers and the spinners. Their batting looked in total disarray in the first innings. None of their batters couldn’t even score more than 35 runs. Shakib Al Hasan’s 32 runs was the highest score in the 1st innings for the visitors.

The Tigers were bundled out for just 149 runs in their 1st innings and gave the home side, India a lead of 227 runs. India batted again in their 2nd innings and they have lost 3 wickets for 81 runs. However, the lead has reached 308 runs with still seven wickets in hand.

just like yesterday, we shall make a list of the top 4 performers of day 2 of the first Test match played between India and Bangladesh which is going on in Chennai

1.    Hasan Mahmud –

This pace bowler of the Bangladeshi side was mentioned yesterday as well. He had picked up four scalps on day one. But he has been mentioned once again because this morning of day 2, Hasan Mahmud became the lone bowler from Bangladesh to pick up a five-wicket haul in India. He picked up the wicket of Jasprit Bumrah and got to that amazing milestone in his red ball career.

2. Taskin Ahmed –

The lead pace bowler of the Bangladeshi attack, Taskin Ahmed went for runs on day one yesterday. But today morning of day 2, Taskin made a fresh start and he was the one who made the early inroads which also helped Bangladesh to stop India from reaching the mammoth 400-run mark. Ahmed picked up 3 scalps in the morning session.

3. Jasprit Bumrah –

The lead pacer of the Men in Blue was the one who started the procession of wickets for India with the new red cherry. Boom Boom Bumrah picked up the wicket of Shadman Islam for no score and picked up three more scalps to his name, which has helped India dominate this first test match.

4. Ravindra Jadeja –

The spin bowling all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja contributed with the bowl as well. He had picked up two scalps of the set Bangladeshi batters, Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Kumar Das in quick succession. Bangladesh was making steady progress in the match with a half-century stand. But a poor shot selection from Shakib and Litton of Jaddu’s bowling didn’t allow the visitors to come close to 376 runs. One shouldn’t forget the valuable 86 runs which Jaddu scored with the bat when the team needed it the most on day one yesterday.
