India Breaks Record In Paris Paralympics ! Won 21 Medals

India has shattered its record at the Paralympics this time, achieving its best performance ever in any Paralympic Games. Indian athletes have so far won 21 medals at the Paris Paralympics, including 3 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals.

While India’s performance in the Paris Olympics was somewhat weaker, the athletes at the Paralympics broke their record by making history. So far, Indian athletes have won 21 medals at the Paris Paralympics, comprising 3 gold medals, 8 silver medals, and 10 bronze medals. Notably, among the medalists this time, 9 athletes are also medalists from the Tokyo Paralympics. With this achievement, India has climbed to the 19th position in the medal tally.

It is worth noting that in the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, India won 19 medals, including 5 gold, 8 silver, and 6 bronze. Now, India has surpassed its own record and made history.

First Paralympic Medal

India’s first Paralympic medal was won in 1972 by para-athlete Murlikant Petkar. He is the same athlete who was recently portrayed in the film “Chandu Champion,” with Kartik Aaryan playing his role.

Medals Won by Indian Athletes So Far

At the Paris Paralympics, Indian athletes Nitesh Kumar, Sumit, and Avani Lekhara have won gold medals. Meanwhile, Suhas LY, T. Murugesan, Yogesh Kathuniya, and Manish Narwal have secured silver medals. Additionally, Nitya Sri Sumanthe Sivan, Manisha Ramdas, Preeti Pal, Mona Agarwal, Rubina Francis, and Nishad Kumar have achieved bronze medals.

Paralympic Medal Tally List

In this list, India stands at the 19th position. The leading positions are occupied by China at the top, followed by Great Britain in second place, the USA in third, Brazil in fourth, France in fifth, Italy in sixth, and then the Netherlands, Ukraine, Australia, and Spain. Uzbekistan is at the 11th position, Germany at 12th, and Japan at 13th. Following them are Switzerland, South Korea, Colombia, Thailand, and Israel. Iran is at the 20th position.
