India Vs Bangladesh: After the two-match series of the red ball format is done and dusted, the India Vs Bangladesh series will compete in a three-match T20 International format series. India won the two-match series of the Test format and they will be eyeing to do well in the shortest format under a new skipper and star T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav. The Men in Blue had lost just one game of the shortest format this year of 2024 and they are the World Champions of T20I cricket.
India will be eyeing to defend their crown when the World Cup of the shortest format takes place after two years in 2026. That ICC mega event of the shortest format will be hosted by India and Sri Lanka. The Men in Blue nation is also set to host the 2025 T20 Asia Cup as well next year. So under Suryakumar Yadav, India is in rebuilding phase after Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja have retired from the shortest format after India won their second title of the T20 World Cup in 2024 at Barbados.
Bangladesh on the other hand has won just one match of the shortest format against India. That win came when the Tigers had toured India in 2019. But their overall record of the T20I format is not that great versus the Men in Blue. They need experienced players like Mustafizur Rahman to fire with the white cherry. Fizz has been playing in the Indian Premier League and he knows how to play in the Indian conditions. Bangladesh’s bowling looks deadly when Mustafizur fires because he has the talent to surprise any batters on his day.
The batting will still hold the key for both the teams and more for Bangladesh especially after they failed to bat well in the two-match red ball series. Shanto, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mahmudullah and Litton Kumar Das hold the key with willow in hand for the visitors and they are also the batters to watch out for from the Bangladeshi side in this whole series of the shortest format. Mehidy Hasan Miraz is also said to be the replacement for Shakib Al Hasan as a spin bowling all-rounder in Bangladesh Cricket for all three forms of the game.
