It is worth noting that after India’s independence, the Election Commission of India was established on this day in 1950. Before Voter’s Day, the Election Commission has released data about the total number of voters in India. Let’s take a look at some important information related to the voters of the country.

India’s Total Voter Count

Ahead of National Voters’ Day, the Election Commission of India released a statement revealing that the total number of voters in the country has now reached 991 million.

The commission also pointed out that the voter list appears more balanced in terms of youth and gender representation.

According to the data, India has 217 million young voters in the age group of 18-29. Additionally, the gender ratio of voters has increased from 948 in 2024 to 954 in 2025.

India to Have Over 1 Billion Voters

The Election Commission recently announced the schedule for the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025. During a press conference, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar revealed that India will soon cross the number of 1 billion (100 crore) voters, which will prove to be a historic milestone. It is worth noting that the elections for the 70-seat Delhi Assembly are to be held on February 5, the results of which will be declared on February 8.
