Two-wheeler maker Jawa Yezdi Motorcycle is going to launch the sporty version of its most popular bike, Jawa 42, in India today (September 3). The company recently released a teaser, which revealed the bike’s rear design.
The new Jawa 42’s ex-showroom price range is Rs 2.10 to 2.20 lakh. In the Indian market, it will compete with the new Royal Enfield Classic 350, which is priced between Rs 1.99 and 2.30 lakh (ex-showroom).
Design: A naked look will be available
The bike’s design will be naked, with side or split grab rails, twin angular exhaust pipes, and twin rear suspension. It will get a sleek teardrop-shaped fuel tank decorated with Jawa stickers and alloy wheels. The positioning of the foot pegs shows that they give a more sporty feel by sitting straight in the riding stance. Apart from this, Java will introduce a newly designed seat in it.
Jawa 42: Hardware and Features
The new Java 42 can be based on a new frame. For comfortable riding, it can be given twin front forks and adjustable shock absorbers in the rear.
The bike will have the option of both spoke and alloy wheels. At the same time, disc brakes with dual-channel ABS can be seen on both wheels for braking. Talking about the features, the new Java 42 will get all LED lighting including a digital instrument console, and indicators.
Performance: A more powerful engine will be available
The new version of Java 42 will be more powerful than the current model. It is expected that this bike will come with a 334cc single-cylinder, DOHC 4V liquid-cooled engine.
This engine generates a maximum power of 30hp and a peak torque of 32.7Nm. A 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch can be available for transmission.
