Jio Star has launched a new OTT platform ‘Jio Hotstar’. This platform is formed by the merger of Jio Cinema and Disney Plus Hotstar. Now users will get to see the content of both Jio Cinema and Disney Plus Hotstar platforms at one place.
This move has been taken after Viacom-18 and Star India recently worked together with Jio Star. Three-month and one-year subscription plans have been introduced for access to the content available on Jio Hotstar.

Jio Hotstar: Features like AI powered insights-multi-angle viewing will also be available
Apart from 4K streaming, Jio Hotstar will also provide features like AI powered insights, real-time stats overlay, multi-angle viewing and even showing ‘special interest’ feeds. Jio Hotstar plans for mobile will start at Rs 149 for three months.
Jio Hotstar CEO Kiran Mani said that the aim of this platform is to provide premium entertainment to all Indians. Along with making content available to more than 1.4 billion Indians in 10 languages, Jio Hotstar will allow users to watch their favorite shows, movies and live sports from a single app.
Content from companies like Warner Bros and HBO will also be available
In an announcement, Jio said that customers of Jio Cinema and Disney Plus Hotstar will be able to easily move to the new platform. Apart from original content, Jio Hotstar will also offer content from companies like NBC Universal Peacock, Warner Bros, Discovery, HBO and Paramount, which no other streaming service currently provides.

It has also introduced Sparks. This is a new initiative, which will bring India’s biggest digital creator to the fore. The platform will also be home to premier cricket tournaments like IPL, WPL and ICC events. You will also be able to watch domestic leagues like Premier League, Wimbledon, Pro Kabaddi and ISL.
